Some companies prefer to hire employees who have stayed in one company for a long time. Others, on the other hand, prefer employees who have experienced many types of jobs. If you were an employer, which type of employee will you choose and why Give reasons to support your choice
It is generally accepted that there are two types of employees in large. One is to prefer to have many different jobs while the other want to dedicate his or her whole life on a single field. In this essay, I would argue that the person who have a variety of jobs will outdo the person having only one job for a long time in terms of experience.
First of all, the foremost reason of having multiple jobs through employees’ career is that they can amass many different experience and knowledge through their career. As society is becomming more complex and diverse thanks to the rapid technological development, the need for the people who can easily adopt new skill or knowledge and adjust to new environments will be certainly increased. For example, the company, where my friend work, decided to introduce new equipment which is known to improve the productivity up to 80%. But there is no one who can control the machine and nobody want to study the equipment. My friend took the chance and he successfully mastered the machine and was easily able to grap the chance to move another company, which was using the same machine, with upgraded compensation package.
Secondly, the strong point of a person having diverse career paths is that they have an ability to foresee what is going to be important in the near future, which is in high demand skill in such a rapidly changed society. That is the main reason why they can survive in a high competitive environment with a such variety of career paths because they can foresee the need of future and move first to occupy the position where nobody see the value in it. We are living in the world where technology and social system constantly evolve in short period of time. In this circumstance, people who can precisely predict what will be popular or highly demanded in the near future will become more powerful in the organization as their ability will be really conducive to the company’s effort to make a plan to cope with consumer’s volatile preference.
In conclusion, there is no doubt that
